Hajji Ibrahim Raganyi Asante, former Tororo District Khadi paid a visit to Rubongi Army Secondary school ( RASS ) on Saturday 23 March 2024. He was warmly received by the school’s acting Deputy Head Teacher Incharge of Academics , Mr Adam Ssenyonga. The later then ushered Hajji Ibrahim to the eager and waiting learners.
The purpose of the visit was none other than giving some food items to the Moslem students who are fasting. Being Ramadan period, a number of students are fasting and as has been norm, a number of entities across the world practice sharing and giving of food relief to those who may need them.
What the Former District Khadi Said
Greeting the enthusiastic learners, Hajji Ibrahim urged the students not to remain the same. He emphasised that the fasting period should be a period of transformation. Transformation from the old self to a better version and not a bad one.
It is at this point that the former district Khadi announced to the learners that he had brought them some food items. He noted with concern that many are the people who need food though at times they are unable to give food to all these people due to resource constraints.
What the learners said.
One of the learners stood up and gave a vote of thanks. He brought out the fact that they are grateful and happy that the district Khadi has continued visiting RASS during Ramadan just like the previous years. This encourages them to stand firm in their faith and continue to hold on with the fasting steadfastly.
After the vote of thanks, the food items which included around 13 bags of rice and cooking oil were handed over to the Muslim community of RASS. Thereafter, a prayer was said by one of the Sheikhs who had moved with Hajji Ibrahim Raganyi Asante.
