Monday May 27, 2024 saw a number of students across the country officially start Term 2 2024. The situation was no different at Rubongi Army Secondary School Tororo. A number of students flocked through the gate after a brief holiday of around three weeks.
On arrival, beginning of term exams were already set. Ready to be given to the students. A few of the students could be seen perusing through their books carefully. A sign that perhaps they didn’t prepare well in holidays and are now making last touches.
1.Beginning of Term Exams
This is currently ongoing and a number of Students have turned up for the exercise which officially starts the term. It’s vital that all students always return on time so as not to miss out.
2.USSPA Games for Army Schools in Bombo
Rubongi Army is currently preparing to this event which will be for only Army schools around the country. It’s slated to commence from June 7 2024. This is different from the the district USSPA Ball game competitions and athletics whose dates are yet to communicated.
3.Election of Students Leaders
Student leaders from time immemorial have gone ahead to be great leaders of the nation. Come 10-14 June RASS will be busy with applying, screening and campaigning for the available leadership posts by the students as we usher in new student leaders.
4.Prom Party 2024
The Candidate classes comprising form fours and sizes are all looking forward to this wonderful day that will be on Saturday 15 June 2024. One of days to remember for them as they share together as class, school and family. Creating memories,good positive memories for this matter.
The organizing committee comprising of the current UNSA Chairperson Neumbe Mary S.6.A, Head Prefect Oyeet Solomon S.6.Sci, Head Boy Okello Maximilian S.6.Sci, Taremwa Benjamin of Form F1 and others are working tirelessly to endeavor all goes well come the prom day.
5.Prefects Hand over Party / S.1 and S.5 plus New Students Welcome Party
This will take place Saturday 22 June,2024. Just a week after the Prom Party. The outgoing Prefects will officially hand over the instruments of power to the incoming leaders.
Meanwhile the new students will also be officially welcomed into the school with a motherly speech from our Mama the Head Teacher Maj Zaina K Nalukenge plus other school administrators and of course a great meal and the much anticipated dance.
6.RASS Old Boys and Old Girls Homecoming/ Reunion Party
The old boys and old girls have taken an initiative to come home at Rubongi Army SS and check on their school come 27 June 2024. All OBs and OGs regardless of where on earth they are will make the long journey of coming coming back home to RASS.
And guess what, they are not coming back home empty handed . They have organized a fundraising plan to have a new state of art new school gate for this great institution. And they kindly ask for your help in realizing this. Details are on the flyer below:
As they embark on the RASS GATE PROJECT, some people have so far made contributions and Pledges. The construction will commence in October . TOTAL PROJECT COST= 43,000,000/=.
