One popular adage states that “ The true meaning of life is to plant trees ,under whose shade you do not expect to sit.” Read that again. We are in a world where people only put great effort in something they hope to gain from in the nearby future individually. But this was not the case with the young student leaders most of whom are in senior six and are leaving soon for higher levels of education.

The true meaning of life is to plant trees ,under whose shade you do not expect to sit.”

What Prompted the Prefectorial and UNSA Bodies to Plant trees?

Speaking to RASS TV, the current Head Prefect, Oyeet Solomon, narrated of a story that inspired him to spearhead this drive. He says it all started when the student leaders together with their patron, Mr Okello Wassen had visited St Peters College Tororo.Apparently, Mr Okello showed the young leaders a tree he had planted in his school days as a student at St Peters College Tororo.

Without much ado, Oyeet Solomon sought to replicate this gesture. He says it won’t only act as a means to remember his regime but also contribute to combating global warming as well as give shade to those who will be around in the future.

The Head Prefect concluded by urging all people to take it as their individual responsibility to plant a tree. Remember, the best time of planting was twenty years ago but it’s never too late. KINDLY PLANT A TREE TODAY.
